The foundation is private and funded primarily by The Salter Family to SUPPORT ORGANIZATIONS THAT HELP orphans, small business dreamers,
and at-risk youth and youth workers.

We fund programs that show the love of God in a practical way

In general, The Salter Foundation will not support:

  • Areas considered to be the direct responsibility of government.

  • General fund raising projects or appeals.

  • Travel, study or conferences (unless incidental to a project being funded).

  • Individuals.

  • Other foundations, trusts and philanthropic organizations to fund their general objectives.

  • Intermediate fund raising agencies.

  • General maintenance or overhead expenses (unless a part of a specific project).

  • Capital works.

  • Funding deficits.

  • Anything which goes against the moral beliefs and Christian values of The Salter Family.

Grants are made once a year in June and the cut off date for applications is 15 May.

Adoption.

No child should be without a family and we are here to help.

Entrepreneurship

Small and Micro business initiatives provides people with opportunities to escape poverty, gain a voice in their community and experience a better quality of life.

Youth Education

Education provides children with opportunities to experience a better quality of life.

Financial Education

People are destroyed financial by what they don’t know. Workshops and seminars that increase the financial literacy of attendees are of great value. Financial education might be the #1 to eliminate the wealth gap.

What We’ve Done

We have granted over $125,000 since 2015 to accomplish the following:

  • 75 kids attended Drew University Summer College

  • 9 Seminarians attended Oxford University Summer Intensive

  • 25 kids increase literacy scores as part of as summer reading program in South Plainfield, NJ

  • 30 low income kids attended a summer STEM program in Newark, NJ

  • Conducted eight financial education sessions reaching more than 500 attendees
